Controls Engineer I/II - Riverside, CA

Seeking a Controls Engineer I/II with system integration experience to join our dynamic engineering team.  fun, hands-on and never says no to a challenge. You will be joining an evolving team, with focus on customer needs and continuous improvement.


  • Work hand in hand with the Engineering team on various projects

  • Provide the necessary support to the project manager to create project timelines and critical paths

  • Responsibilities within engineering customer projects and internal projects will include, but not limited to leading, being part of the team or being the one who:

  • Develops proposals and presentations for customers

  • Qualify, prioritize and assess feasibility of projects

  • Designs proof of concepts

  • Design, select components and document complete electrical layouts of systems and panels

  • Evaluate, recommend and explore new tools, products and software to improve the skillset of the engineering team.

  • Documentation of PLC and HMI programs as we well as schematics and revision control.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and modify PLC programs

  • Provide technical assistance to customers and sales team

  • Contribute to the development of the engineering process


  • BS / MS Engineering or related four-year Degree with focus on electrical or controls

  • 3+ years engineering experience

  • Proven track record of hands-on experience designing and implementing control systems.

  • Experienced in electrical design

  • Experience with advance automation control systems

  • Experience in designing and upgrading automated equipment

  • Product knowledge of controls and automation devices as well as software

  • Strong PLC and HMI programming skills

  • Ability to design and trouble shoot electrical systems

  • Extensive experience for creating electrical schematics

  • Design experience and component selection in accordance to applicable standards (ex. UL508A)

  • Solid understanding and hands on experience of integrating multiple systems.

  • Hands-on experience in developing proof of concept designs

  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting of 24VDC up to 480V 3phase systems.

  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and modify the following: PLC failures, device failures, Robotics systems components, Control Network components, HMI components, Motor Controls and starters, VFD’s and standard electrical components

  • Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to Interpret and modify mechanical/electrical drawings and P&ID's

  • Good communicator, gets along well with others

  • Leadership ability

  • Good technical skills and problem-solving techniques

  • Fast learner and a good teacher

  • Excellent technical writing skills
