Operations Manager - Camarillo, CA

Seeking an Operations Manager who will lead a manufacturing team in achieving quality, cost, delivery and employee safety goals.  Facilitate problem solving and corrective action for production issues.  Control in-process inventory to achieve production requirements with minimum impact on inventory levels.  Direct application of capital and people resources to maximize operating efficiency. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the performance indicators for the Aerospace products in the Camarillo plant to ensure that safety, capacity, quality, productivity and manufacturing costs are competitively maintained and improved through the Continuous Improvement Framework.

  • Analyze short and long-term manufacturing requirements and capabilities of facilities.

  • Drive change through improved organizational capability, providing leadership in recruiting, goal alignment, employee development, performance management and communication.

  • Ensure motivation and retention of a high-performance management team and workforce.

  • Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and professional operation of all organizational functions.

  • Develop budgets and resource plans, and monitor performance, to achieve product delivery and financial requirements.

  • Support Environmental Health and Safety in the deployment of MESH to support a Zero Incident Culture.

  • Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system and financial reporting requirements.

  • Co-ordinate manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy customer requirements.

  • Control in-process inventory to achieve production requirements with minimum impact on inventory levels.

  • Direct application of capital and people resources to maximize operating efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

  • 3 years of experience in a leadership position with direct reports

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Proven capability to lead change in a team environment

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen

  • U.S. citizen/green card holder required

Preferred:

  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Lean Manufacturing; MBA preferred

  • 7 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality or MFG Engineering is preferred

  • Experienced in management of aerospace development programs

  • Project Management Institute accreditation (PMP) preferred

  • Experience in Risk Management

  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace industry
