Senior Financial Analyst/EVMS Lead - Torrance, CA

Seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - EVMS Lead to join our Financial Planning & Analysis organization and manage our Earned Value Management System. As an EVMS Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating the day to day management of our Earned Value Management System and support project personnel with planning, budgeting, and analysis of costs.


  • Provide EVM leadership and support to our JARVIS III contract. Provide EVM and scheduling guidance to the respective Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

  • Manage the EVMS cost system (Deltek Cobra) and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule using MS Project.

  • Develop and maintain program/project integrated cost and schedule analysis to include project analysis of critical paths and identification of discrepancies and issues.

  • Provide cost and risk analysis for program change requests.

  • Coordinate with Proposal/Pricing team to schedule programs while in the proposal phase

  • Lead initial cost and schedule baseline development exercises to include establishment of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project and the cost baseline in Cobra.

  • Conduct schedule risk analysis.

  • Work with Program Management to establish program resource requirements.

  • Lead monthly schedule status updates and monthly updates of the estimate to complete (ETC).

  • Perform analysis of historical trending and burn rates in development of the ETC.

  • Partner with other finance teams to ensure timeliness and accuracy of actual cost data reported by the PPM team.

  • Conduct analysis of program cost performance, to include assessment of resource availability and costs against scheduled milestones and customer deliverables.

  • Lead monthly Variance Analysis Reviews with Program Management, other stakeholders, identifying root cause for cost and schedule variances.

  • Maintain the EVM System Description that will be shared and used across the PPM team.

  • Provide continual focus on lessons learned, establishing best practices to ensure PPM team is providing greatest value to our program stakeholders.

  • Communicate program status, cost/schedule trends and program corrective actions to the executive level.

  • Provide support to cost/schedule/technical meetings.


  • Bachelors or higher in business, accounting or similar field

  • EVMS team leadership experience (preferred but not required)

  • 5-10 years EVMS cost/schedule experience

  • Core Competencies:

  • Experience in cost and schedule analysis/forecasting and risk assessment

  • Familiarity working with Department of Defense EVMS contracts

  • Excellent Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge

  • Excellent Proficiency with MS Project and Deltek Cobra

  • Experience with EVM cost and risk analysis and critical path schedule analysis

  • Experience in working in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.

  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • AACE EVP and/or PSP Certification (preferred but not required)

  • U.S. citizen/green card holder required
