Avionics Field Application Engineer - Torrance, CA

Seeking an Avionics Field Application Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background who and electronics troubleshooting skills who will provide onsite developmental support for avionics systems by utilizing their advanced troubleshooting skills on all aircraft systems and their avionics interfaces. He/She will have excellent communication skills, a team-oriented approach, an interdisciplinary outlook and strong self-motivation. Travel is only 1-5% of time in U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite developmental support for avionics systems

  • Generates customer specific engineering communications such as notification documents

  • Performs troubleshooting of advanced avionics issues on an integration rig or aircraft on-site

  • Supports customer ground test efforts such as system integration and qualification testing as well as flight test efforts, including collection of avionics data during testing

  • Assists in creation of aircraft interconnect documentation from existing design documentation or through discovery to confirm

  • Work closely with engineers and customers to coordinate issues and resolve moderately complex hardware and software interface problems

  • Provide on-site training to customers for usage of our products as needed

  • Track all customer reported issues and manage closure to all issues

  • Provide technical information to customers to resolve any reported issue

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics

  • 3-5 years+ advanced troubleshooting skills on electronics (avionics a plus)

  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems

  • Working knowledge of all electronics systems and their interfaces (avionics a plus)

  • Working knowledge of data acquisition methods (aircraft a plus)

  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office, including desired familiarity with Cadence, Creo, AutoCAD and MS Visio (a plus)

  • Demonstrates ability to use embedded operating systems such as Linux and RTOS such as Green Hills Integrity (a plus)

  • Ability to understand detailed product information

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and customer service

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment

  • U.S. citizen/green card holder required
