Associate Director, IM Program Management Office - San Rafael, CA

Seeking an Associate Director, Information Management PMO for our offices in San Rafael, CA.

Responsibilities:  The Sr. Director is responsible for ensuring project management support for Technical Operation projects within the IM Portfolio, driving IM PMO process and policy, and directing IM Technical Operations project management staff.

  • Ensuring that all assigned programs, projects and initiatives are well defined, planned, tracked and communicated in a consistent manner
  • Quickly and effectively understand business strategies, challenges and priorities while collaborating with business leaders to identify and plan initiatives to translate these into programs/projects with measurable tactical goals and objectives
  • Partnering with any other Business PMO functions to ensure planning and execution alignment on dependent projects
  • Take ownership and lead Project Management staff
  • Consistently support all IM and Business functional teams with high degree of quality service
  • Partner and seamlessly align with internal IM Process, Change Management and User Experience groups and methods as applicable to a given project or program
  • Regularly present IM Portfolio status both internally & externally to IM in multiple formal and related IM and Business forums including but not limited to: Internal IT Demand Review; IM Demand Management Committee (DMC); Business PMO Portfolio Review Sessions; Computer Validation Forum (CVF); Annual Cross-functional IM Portfolio Budgeting Sessions
  • Directly manage critical complex IM Programs and the projects they comprise from scope, design and development, into production
  • Define resources and schedules for programs / projects implementation
  • Plan and schedule program / project deliverables, goals, milestones
  • Drive the development of documentation deliverables, as applicable
  • Efficiently identify and solve project issues and responsible for Senior Management level escalation only after exhausting all other mitigation options
  • The IM PMO Technical Operations Lead works directly the IM BRM Leads for each Business Units, all functional IM Teams, other Project Managers and implementation Project Teams with project level Technical Operations dependencies, and any identified support teams related to any given IM project(s) implementation.
  • At a high level, must provide operational understanding of all IM functions, applications, platforms and related technology that support the Technical Operations organization. Attention to detail and good analytical skills are essential.  Consistently clear and concise executive level communication is a must.  Critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills are a must.
  • The ideal candidate has the ability to anticipate program / project related problems and takes effective leadership to address the issues proactively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field or significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience with software or technology used on the job, including Business application and / or platform implementation supporting IT and IM solutions in Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions is a must.
  • 5+ year experience in implementing and / or lead application management of an enterprise Project
  • Portfolio Management platform.
  • Experience working in Regulated/Life Science industries strongly preferred.
  • Independent problem-solving skills.
  • Program / Project Management scheduling and budgeting experience.
  • Very strong interpersonal and executive level communication skills and ability to interact positively with upper management as well as communicating problems to appropriate teams within our organization.
  • This level of PMO Leadership needs a keen understanding of people, management processes, and functional IT and related support needs.
  • Strong leadership skills in project definition, mitigation and overall delivery

  • Strong Presentation, collaboration & coalition building Skills
  • U.S. Citizen/green card holder required
  • Consulting or business management background is a strong plus.
