We are seeking an Electrical (Firmware) Engineer who will be responsible for the hardware design with end to end digital and/or analog electronics. The EE will design throughout the entire process including architecture through schematic capture, layout and BOM generation. This position reports to our Group Leaders in the Electro-Optics Systems Division.
Develop and realize electronic designs in support of the warfighter
Derive system specifications
Lead the entire hardware design process with end-to-end digital and/or analog electronics design utilizing ECAD Altium or OrCAD
Create prototypes for high-speed communication, video streaming and imaging interfaces, low noise amplifiers, high throughput digital-to-analog conversion, and/or low ripple power supplies
Design, develop and test embedded systems, microcontrollers (e.g., ARM architecture) including hardware/firmware and FPGA tools
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2+ years minimum hardware design experience
Experience designing, developing and testing embedded systems, microcontrollers including F/W & FPGA tools
Proficient in the use of design automation tools including ECAD Altium and/or OrCAD
Experience developing on FPGA tools (Xilinx ISE, Altium Quartus) – strongly preferred
Must be able to handle a fast paced environment with multiple priorities and critical deadlines
Ability to work in a diverse team and communicate effectively at all levels
Strong, independent problem solving skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to determine and present solutions
Experience writing detailed reports
Proficient with MS Office
US Citizenship required to obtain security clearance.
