Seeking a highly motivated Electronics Engineer for an aerospace/defense company in Torrance, CA working in its Photonic Systems Division. The successful candidate will have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with hands-on experience in rapid development of custom electronics.
Responsibilities: The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end development of various designs that involve schematic design, PCB layout, fabrication, embedded firmware development, and testing for diverse applications. This work will also include responsibility for designing and developing a variety of multi-disciplinary technologies, taking concepts on paper and making them into functional products within a limited time-frame.
Developing and testing electronics hardware, and running one-off test set-ups and experiments.
Develop reliable custom electronics systems and devices (including design, layout, fabrication, testing, and rapid iteration) for new and ongoing research and product development efforts.
Implement electronics systems using microcontrollers, peripherals (A-to-D and D-to-A converters, FPGAs, sensors, drivers, cameras, memory), develop embedded C code, and analog circuits for a wide variety of applications.
Debug complex systems including custom electronics, firmware, and software.
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years end-to-end electronic circuit design and development
Experienced with writing software for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers
Experience writing VHDL code for FPGA subsystems
Experience with analog and mixed-signal design
Experience with Windows software development in C/C++
Experience debugging complex systems including custom electronics, firmware, and software
Experience with environmental sensors, optical sensors, or cameras is a plus
US Citizenship required.
