Electronics Engineer - Torrance, CA

Seeking a highly motivated Electronics Engineer for an aerospace/defense company in Torrance, CA working in its Photonic Systems Division. The successful candidate will have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with hands-on experience in rapid development of custom electronics. 

Responsibilities: The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end development of various designs that involve schematic design, PCB layout, fabrication, embedded firmware development, and testing for diverse applications.  This work will also include responsibility for designing and developing a variety of multi-disciplinary technologies, taking concepts on paper and making them into functional products within a limited time-frame.

  • Developing and testing electronics hardware, and running one-off test set-ups and experiments.

  • Develop reliable custom electronics systems and devices (including design, layout, fabrication, testing, and rapid iteration) for new and ongoing research and product development efforts.

  • Implement electronics systems using microcontrollers, peripherals (A-to-D and D-to-A converters, FPGAs, sensors, drivers, cameras, memory), develop embedded C code, and analog circuits for a wide variety of applications.

  • Debug complex systems including custom electronics, firmware, and software. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years end-to-end electronic circuit design and development

  • Experienced with writing software for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers

  • Experience writing VHDL code for FPGA subsystems

  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal design

  • Experience with Windows software development in C/C++

  • Experience debugging complex systems including custom electronics, firmware, and software 

  • Experience with environmental sensors, optical sensors, or cameras is a plus

  • US Citizenship required.
